Styling It Up With The Kardashians

I love the Kardashian/Jenner family. They remind me a lot of my own family with their crazy ways. I am Khloe Kardashian - Wild, crazy, outspoken (even the name is the same!) Mum is Kris Jenner - Always running around crazy trying to keep the family in some order, sticks her nose into her daughters lives. My sister is more like Kim, soft spoken, wants to own the best of the best. Dad is exactly like Bruce Jenner - doesn't get a say in much, wants the best for his daughters, the only room in the house he can keep anything is the shed/garage!
I do have to say that they have fabulous taste in home decor. Here is a peek into the lush lives of the Kardashian / Jenner crowd.

Style Stakes

Dior created some beautiful pieces for their 2010 Spring/Summer collection. While the majority of us cannot afford Dior it is nice to look at the collections and see what we could be wearing.

The colours are not as dramatic as previous years. We are seeing more muted tones, with nude still being huge with designers. Sheer is still in, and its either flowy and long or get those legs ready short.

Lazy Sundays

It was an absolutely amazing day in Perth today all be it a bit windy. I made the most of the lovely weather by spending it in the garden with Puppa Bear. Next week we are re planting some garden beds out by the entertaining area. This job has been given to me, and I'm ecstatic! I can't wait to go to the nursery and pick out the plants.

Its that time of the year where the cushions come back out and are put back on the outdoor furniture, and many a lazy Sundays are spent with a crisp white wine and friends.
What more could anyone ask for?

Walk Right In

I cannot wait until I move into my own place and have a ginormous walk in wardrobe. I have always been one to have an over stuffed cupboard and I would absolutely love to be able to display some of my clothes.

Don't let me forget the shoes. I am a major Imelda Marcos! For those of you who don't know who Imelda Marcos is she is a very extravagant lady and doesn't do things by halves. Imelda is a Filipino politician and wife of 10th Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos. Marcos is the owner of some 2700 pairs of shoes, and not any cheap pair either. They are Jimmy Choos, Manolo's, etc.

I have all my shoes in their boxes still stacked up in a bookcase which has now overtaken half a wall! I would love to be able to have my shoes out for me to see. Ohhh shoes....

Coveting.....

Back in Black

I know everyone in Blogland is posting about Black at the moment, but I have been sucked inby the big black hole for a long time now. While I don't have any black walls or other significant black furniture in my house, times will change, as they always do.

Here are some of my favourite pictures to entice you into painting something a fab black.

On My Bedside Table

I always have a fresh bunch of flowers on my bedside table. These are Ranunculus. These would have to be one of my favourite flowers. A clock radio/i pod station is a must. Listening to music before I sleep and waking up to it in the morning keeps me up to date and helps me along with my day. I also have a bad habit of sleeping in so, the radio wakes me up and keeps me on time - otherwise I turn into the Rabbit from Alice In Wonderland who is running around saying "I'm late, I'm late for a very important date".

I have just finished reading Cathy Kelly's new book Homecoming. I love Cathy's books, the settings and characters are so real. Sometimes you think you could be one of the characters. Cathy is in Perth tomorrow night promoting Homecoming. I was so excited when I found out she was visiting Perth - no one ever does! - that I immediately booked Mum and I places to see her at our local library. I cannot wait.
These are souvenirs I have purchases on my travels. The Eiffel Tower is from Paris, the orange box is from Kuala Lumpur and the Union Jack box is from London.
I purchased this crystal jug from an op shop for $3

Purple Purchase

I never really realised but I am drawn to all things purple. I never noticed until today when I came home from the shops with two new cushions. Thank you Spotlight for sucking me into purchasing cushions I did not need. I will admit though - they do look great on my bed and on my wicker chair.

Lust List

I have a bad habit of buying things I love even though I have no idea where I will put them. If I like something enough I will buy it. This even goes for furniture. To stop this habit I have now gotten into yet another habit of taking photos of the items I like and sticking the photos into a photo album - sad yes!

These are some of the items I am coveting for!

These fab white leather dining chairs. Love the nail head trim.

This winged back arm chair would add glamour to any living room

Love the colour

Taking inspiration for my own headboard from this one. Love metallic tiles right now.

A cup of tea and a good book make for a good afternoon rest

LOVE LOVE LOVE. shape, colour, bling. all in one hit

Friday Night

It's finally Friday afternoon. Living in Perth we are surrounded by the hype and excitement of Fremantle Football Club making it so far into the finals. I will sheepishly admit, I will be watching and cheering for Freo tonight. Hopefully we can beat those Geelong Cats.

I will be posting some new and exciting things over the coming days so stay tuned. I have also found some FAB blogs I will be sharing with you.

Enjoy your Friday night and GO FREO GO!

DIY Bedhead

I am having such a hard time finding a good quality foam that doesn't cost me the earth. My fabric was on sale so that only cost 1/4 of what it should have. Now all I need to purchase is my MDF (wood backing) and the foam.

I cannot wait until I have everything sorted out. Poor mum and dad are having to constantly listen to me talk about the projects I am undertaking at the moment. Dad likes listening though, and luckily for me, helping out his daughter when I cant cut a straight line with the jigsaw! Its handy having a dad who is a tradie!

Living with mum and dad will be my place of residence for the next 2 years while I save up enough money to buy a house. In Perth, house prices are constantly rising and even the worst house in the worst neighbourhood is out of many peoples price range. I am hoping I can save enough to buy a townhouse or something similar.

Anyway enough about my living arrangements I was suppose to be talking about my Bedroom Makeover.

I have a wooden chest of draws and 2 bedside tables that are a Jarrah colour. I love the whole natural wood thing but it just is not me. I will be sanding and painting these a fresh coat of white and adding some new handles to them.

The bedhead and the painting of the chest and bedsides is the last things to do before I have a luxurious bedroom!

Fresh white painted walls and new carpet that feels like you are walking on clouds, was the start of the makeover which soon turned into a major revamp! I get bored easily so I am constantly changing things in our house.

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Black

While everyone else in Australia is blogging about it being the first day of spring, here in Perth its freezing cold and gloomy. Black is my new best friend. I didn't realise how much I liked the colour until I realised its always that one go-to option if nothing else works.
While I love to wear black, when it comes to home interiors I would never advise in using it in a small space. Black is a great accent colour - black kitchen cupboards, black granite work surfaces, black furniture, stained floorboards, black wallpaper.
Its elegant and simple. Don't get me wrong I LOVE colour and white - hence my bedroom design is white and off white tones. Black is a strong statement which works well in grand style homes.
A glossy black will always win me over. What can I say? I'm a simple person!
