It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

With presents almost all bought, I cannot wait until tomorrow - 1st December! I can put up the Christmas tree and decorate the house. Its getting busy at the shops, and carols are getting played in the stores.

This year we bought a new wreath to hang on the front door. Even though I love all the decorations we have and how beautiful the house looks, I always seem to be slightly jealous when I see some images of amazing homes decorated to perfection.

Snaps!

I love looking in home wares shops and looking at everything I cannot purchase! While browsing around one of these stores, hoping to find some Christmas presents I took a few pictures of some items I am loving! What do you think?

A huge congratulations to Simone from Beach Vintage on her Woman's Weekly appearance. Her amazing home is featured in the December issue. Make sure you buy a copy and have a look at Simone's blog and her shop!

Pretty in Pink

Kellie from Ada and Darcy recently posted this picture which I find to be gorgeous. I love the mirrors and the tones of pink with white. Make sure you wonder over to Kellie's blog and have a look.

Silver Lining

I have a new fave blog - Belle Inspirations. Make sure you check it out, there are some ohh laa la things to look and ohh and ahh over!

Taking my inspiration from Belle Inspirations I wanted to share some glitzy pictures with silver accents throughout the home. Its Thanksgiving Day in America, and while we do not celebrate it here, I am taking inspiration from the silver of the cutlery and the ice buckets I know families will be using.

Pin Me Up

Pin Up Girls are an age old Icon of the 40's and 50's. My Grandad would be in the Army away at war, and when they had time they would flick through magazines. Pin Up Girls would feature heavily throughout, mainly as a welcome distraction from the reality the men were really in. Years later, the iconic pictures are still loved. I know I love them.

Love the look!

A Family Affair

This Thursday is Thanksgiving. As we do not celebrate this holiday in Australia, I decided this year my family would all sit down a beautifully decorated table and have a Thanksgiving type dinner.

We are a fairly busy family and sometimes we find it hard to have a proper sit down meal.

I will be the cook and I will do the required Turkey! There will also be a yummy prawn salad, a summer mango salad, and a few others I am yet to decide on. Suggestions are welcome!

I am looking forward to getting the decorations up next Wednesday! Only one month until Christmas!

I do not have any photos to show you from my quick trip to Queensland - my camera has issues! Was a fantastic trip though, and The Sunshine Coast and Mooloolaba were amazing. Brisbane was also lots of fun and I cant wait to go back!

Brisbane!

I am visiting a friend in Brisbane this week. I haven't seen Cassie in 9 months, so I'm jumping on a plane and heading east.

Its my first trip to Brisbane and I'm sooo excited! It's only a short 4 day trip, but we are going to do a road trip up to the Sunshine Coast and to the Hinterland. I can't wait to go on a good old fashioned road trip with an amazing friend.

Summer is Coming!

Summer is just around the corner! Long lazy days at the beach or by the pool sipping ice cold fruit juices... the only down side? In Perth it gets reallllllllly hot! and we have a ton of sticky flies!

Look at the cactus we have flowering in our garden, beautiful!

Hydrangea

I have long had a fascination with the Hydrangea. It started when I was only a little girl, exploring my grandparents garden (the most amazing and colourful garden!) one early summer day. I wondered upon a huge Hydrangea in bloom. The blooms were such a pretty purple and covered the whole shrub. Ever since then I have loved the humble Hydrangea.

Grandad's Hydrangea is still by far the largest I have seen, and with them starting to come into flower I was inspired by this picture I saw at Signed By Tina.

I love the detail of the nail head along the bottom of the chair.

Kitchen Love

I already love spending time in the kitchen. Whether its creating something yummy or reading the newspaper at the table, its one room I always seem to hover in.

On tonight's menu is Garlic Prawn Pasta. It is super delicious, and quick and easy (if you take out the peeling the prawns!). Simply have your peeled prawns ready and your pasta cooking - I use spaghetti - and in a frying pan add the crushed garlic, juice of a lemon and butter with a mild chili and cook until fragrant. Add the prawns and cook, taking off heat just before cooked through. Add cooked pasta to frying pan and stir through garlic prawns. The prawns will be cooked through by this stage and its ready to serve.

If I could have this kitchen I would sleep in it!! How nice are metallic tile splash backs?! Easy way of adding that glamour to the kitchen area.
