M.I.A?

Missing in Action. Yes once again I have been neglecting my blog. I have had another flu. I am hoping 2011 brings a much better year for me. I do not have any New Years Resolutions, I just hope to change my life for the better.

Wishing you and your loved ones a safe and happy new years. May you live, laugh, love and learn together.

My Favourite

Peonies are one of my favourite flowers. Unfortunately its too hot to grow them in Perth. While visiting my flower man, I found these beauties! Just a small Christmas present for myself!

Babysitting

While taking Inka (the cat) to the vet this morning as he couldn't walk, I was shocked and appalled to see two beautiful kittens had been dumped on a ladys lawn in a shoe box. No food, no towels only the cardboard box they were in.

Like us, the lady had 2 cats, 2 dogs and an array of birds. I was so upset to hear that no one could take these beautiful kittens in. The RSPCA, Cat Home and all other shelters in Perth were full.

There was a long line in front of us, so Mum and I got out our phones and called everyone in our contact lists. After hearing the story one lady who was there with her dog took one kitten.

We finally managed to find a friend of my Sister who will spoil and treat (Rosie as I named her!) Like she should be.

Its this time of the year that many kittens and puppies get dumped. 80% of these are euthanize. Instead of buying a puppy or kitten from a pet shop, have a look at a local shelter and help save a life! Both Sonny (the dog) and Inka were rescued.

Tonight we are looking after Rosie until she is picked up by her new family tomorrow morning!

It is beautiful weather in Perth. Next week it is going to be hitting 40 degrees so I am making the most of it this week by being out by the pool. A good book and a nice cold drink is all I need.

It would be nice to be out by one of these pools.

Cooking in Style

The Hampton's and style is like bread and butter - they just go together. If I was lucky enough to own a fabulous Hampton's home, I would be cooking and entertaining with friends and family throwing great dinner parties. I would need something like this though - of course!

Letting in the Light

I was watching a TV program last night and while I've thought of this idea before, it is now stamped into my mind!

A glass pitched ceiling in the kitchen!

I couldn't think of anything nicer than sitting around the kitchen table with candles lit, enjoying a nice meal with friends and looking up and seeing the stars shine away. In Summer I would need blinds to cover the glass, or the Australian heat would melt the house.

Here is a picture, but I would have the ceiling extended throughout the kitchen area as well.

Celeb Crush

Elegant. Sophisticated. Envied. Adored. Beautiful. Smart. Savy. Trendy. Sexy.

These are all words I have heard people use to describe Elle Macpherson. I think Elle is an amazingly talented woman who broke boundaries within the lingerie kingdom.

I own many Elle Macpherson Intimates, and I have to say they are so comfortable.

I love Elle's style. Effortless and on trend yet not seeming to follow any trend but creating one. Unlike the Australian climate Elle grew up in, the London life and style requires a whole different set of rules. Layering is a must! big scarves and cute coats are non negotiable.

Oh should I go onto the hair? I am growing my long bob out, and my goal is to get back to having long locks like Elle. Pulled into a tight pony or let loose around her shoulders, it looks great no matter what.

Designer Love

Eric Cohler is a great designer who never does anything twice. A lover of black and elegance go hand in hand when Eric is creating his room or rooms. I don't think anymore words are needed here!

Eric Prokesh is a new name to me. Where have I been I hear you ask? Under a rock it seems! With a love of calming blues, it seems he and I share a love of comfortable spaces with lots of light and that gorgeous blue hue! Thanks to Belle Inspirations for sharing her love of blue and introducing me to a new designer!

I'm loving this house. I would have to add a few big paintings on the walls and a bit more colour, the architecture is my dream house! The marble adds the glamour and white walls are the perfect canvas to display my artwork and nick knacks!

The garden I would need to add lots of Roses, Hydrangeas and colour. The arch doors with the iron work are simply amazing!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

With presents almost all bought, I cannot wait until tomorrow - 1st December! I can put up the Christmas tree and decorate the house. Its getting busy at the shops, and carols are getting played in the stores.

This year we bought a new wreath to hang on the front door. Even though I love all the decorations we have and how beautiful the house looks, I always seem to be slightly jealous when I see some images of amazing homes decorated to perfection.
