Winter Wonderland

Its Winter! We have had rain, wind, thunder, lightening and cold days and nights.

I found it very difficult to get out of bed today. It was so cold last night that Sonny pup jumped up on the bed - which he isn't allowed to do - and snuggled in with me.

In Perth we don't get very cold winters. Its always kept warm by the ocean. I've found this year to be surprisingly cooler. The next couple of nights are set to get to 2 degrees!

I have been looking though Summer holiday pictures trying to warm myself up. Here are some from my trip to Thailand in 2006/07! This trip was a lot of fun - Just Mum and I

Lazy Sunday Drives

When I was a little girl, every Sunday Mum, Dad, my Sister and I would pile into the car and head out on a Sunday drive. It would always be somewhere out of Perth's hustle and bustle, nestled in the countryside somewhere.

As my Sister and I grew older these became less customary. While eating breakfast last Sunday morning it was decided that we would get in the car and go on one of our Lazy Sunday Drives!

They were always so much fun. Looking through antique shops and experiencing the country life style, playing I-Spy, and tasting the scrumptious pies the small cafes would have to offer. One of my favourite cafes just out of Perth is in Jane Brooke. It has 2 houses which are now the cafe and a gallery, and a HUGEEEE old gum - I think it would nearly be 7m in diameter.

We set off in the car less my Sister, heading for a town called Toodyay just over an hour east of Perth. It was less than 1 year ago Toodyay was devastated by bushfires where so many lives were destroyed. Driving into the town you can see the burnt bush coming back to its former glory, but it wont be the same for many decades yet.

Toodyay is infamous for its Cola Cafe. It is a cafe and museum showcasing one of the best Coca Cola collections I have seen to date. It is reminiscent of a '50s style cafe - very cool!

After finishing our drinks and a yummy bacon & egg sandwich, we headed off to browse through a few antique shops and some cute country style shops. This is where I found my latest purchase!

This is it! A gorgeous old bottle. I collect these and have them sitting on my dressing table with my perfume and old antique perfume bottles.

We finished up and made our way back to Perth just as the sun was setting over the rolling hills. It was a fun day and I cant wait until the next Lazy Sunday Drive!

How was your weekend?

How was your weekend? I hope you made the most of it. The weather in Perth this weekend was one of those magical winter days you only dream about. Sunny and warm - perfect for a drive in the car and looking around small towns outside of Perth.
Stay tuned for pictures of my antique purchase!
Enjoy the remaining few hours of the weekend and Ill see you all soon!

Im Back!!!!

After taking a much needed break away from the many worlds which surround me and sometimes suffocate me, I am back fresher than I have ever been.

I will be posting about 3 times a week, maybe more! I promise it will be better than it has been, and I will be writing about many different subjects - controversial and all!

I cannot wait to hear from you with your thoughts and comments.

Bon Voyage!

I am off on Monday morning at 4am! I still haven't packed and I'm slightly anxious that I'll leave without something. Whenever I travel I always carry around a nervousness that doesn't leave the pit of my stomach until I arrive home when I am happy that I had everything I needed. Most times it's a toothbrush I forget to pack.

It's freezing cold in England and sweltering hot in Perth. It feels strange pulling out my winter clothes in the middle of a heatwave and going to the shops to buy thermals. I have gotten some looks as if to say 'Are you stark crazy? It's 45 degrees outside and you want thermals and polar-fleece?' But I am off on the adventure of a life time and I'm going by myself!

I am hoping to be this fashionable and glamorous while in Europe, I just hope not to be this fashionably late and miss any trains or flights.

One Week!

There is only 1 week left until i jump on a plane and head to London Baby!
I have had this trip planned for sometime now, but it has only just started to set in that I am off on a huge adventure.... alone!
I am leaving the man in my life here, and taking off on a 6 week adventure.

First stop is England followed by Scottland, Wales, Belgium, Amsterdam, through Germany into Austria, down to Italy where I'll be visiting Venice, Rome and Florence. Into Switzerland for a quick trip and then back through France into Paris - The City of Love and back to London.

I will be doing 2 Contiki Tours. The first one is of Great Britain and the Second is of Europe.

I cannot wait to see the architecture and view the amazing history England has to offer. I am a sucker for "pretty" things and I am sure I am going to have massive excess baggage on the way home.

Who knows - I may not come home!

Lazy Weekends

It's that time on a Sunday afternoon when you dream of jumping on a plane and going somewhere fabulous for the week. Why would you want to if your outdoor area was this amazing? I am lucky enough to have a pool and tropical paradise only a step from the back door. If you are not lucky enough, this heat would no doubt be making you think about putting in a pool and transforming your backyard into a tropical escape. You'll never want to leave the house!

Golden Globes 2010

The Golden Globes have come and gone for another year. It rained, it poured and along with the storms it bought some hits and misses on the red carpet. The rain was a stylists worst nightmare, and hair and dresses were put to the test.

With the film business being a multi billion dollar empire , it came as a shock to many to see that they had not put up tenting over the red carpet. Women were left holding the train of their dresses while some just put their best foot forward.

The men looked dashing in their suits. Hugo Boss was a stand out designer amongst the men. Impeccably tailored suits were a must.

My best dressed award goes to Kate Hudson. The form fitting Marchesa design was AMAZING! The simpleness of her hair and understated make up gave her a classic, sexy screen godess look which won over millions.

Pastels were a big trend seen on the carpet this year. Pink was a hit along with purple. Celebs following these trends were Emily Blunt who wore a dusty pink, strappless Dolce & Gabbana gown. Diane Kruger chose a raspberry Christian Lacroix gown with stark white accessories.
I thought this was a huge risk and it paid off.

Best Actress In A Television Series (Comedy or Musical) winner Toni Collette followed the "golden" them of the night, in a simply stunning Ellie Saab dress. Her simple accessories and up-do complimented the dress.

Purple was another winner on the carpet favored by many. Fergie rocked this violet hue with her sultry looks and mane of dark glossy hair. Fergie chose Ellie Saab no doubt for its fit and the gorgeous beading under the bust which emphasized her slim waist and brilliant breasts.
